Celebrating Strength, Sisterhood, and Spirit With the St. Cloud High School Golden Girls Dance Team

There’s something incredibly special about photographing a team during a season that means everything! The final games, the last performances, the moments that only come once. For the St. Cloud High School Golden Girls Dance Team, this season was filled with pride, passion, and unforgettable memories under the those epic Friday night lights.

I had the absolute honor of photographing these incredible young women. Capturing their confidence, movement, and the bond that makes this team so special. From powerful in-action dance images to polished portrait-style shots, this session was all about celebrating who they are together and as individuals.

St. Cloud High School Golden Girls Dance Team

This season marked the final home game for the senior Golden Girls, and emotions were high in the best way. These dancers are strong, talented, graceful, and full of heart — and it shows in everything they do.

Tonight wasn’t just the end of a season. It was the closing of one chapter and the beginning of another. Once a Golden Girl, always a Golden Girl.

Watching these dancers soak in every moment — supporting one another, laughing between takes, and showing up with confidence — was incredibly moving. They’ve made their school, their families, and their coach so proud, and it was an honor to help preserve this milestone for them.

 A Media Day Designed to Showcase Confidence, Personality, and Team Energy

This session was all about variety and movement. We photographed the Golden Girls across multiple locations, capturing:

• In-action dance images that highlight strength and motion

• Portrait-style shots with a clean, confident headshot feel

• Team photos full of energy, hype, and connection

Between hype music, constant cheering, and lots of laughter, any nerves quickly turned into confidence. These dancers showed up ready to slay — and they absolutely did.

Meet The Golden Girls Captain

One of the highlights of the day was getting to work with Aubrey, captain of the St. Cloud High Golden Girls. This was actually the first time we met in person — just one month after she won my Summer Senior Session Giveaway.

From the moment we started shooting, Aubrey stepped into her leadership role effortlessly. She was my right-hand girl throughout the session — helping keep all 32 dancers organized, cheering everyone on, and bringing such positive energy to the entire shoot. She is pure sunshine and an incredible example of what it means to lead with kindness and confidence.

I can’t wait to photograph her official senior session soon — it’s going to be amazing.
